Lloyd J. Baldwin, 62, and his wife, Joyce, filed suit on August 7, 2013 against multiple companies. The lawsuit alleges that he developed lung cancer as a result of exposure to their asbestos-containing materials.
The couple, who reside in Erie, Pennsylvania, claims that many companies, including Ford Motor Co., General Electric, Georgia Pacific, Pfizer, Sears Roebuck and Co., Honeywell International, and Union Carbide Corp., are liable for personal injuries for selling products containing asbestos.
Baldwin says that, since the 1960s, he has worked with and in the vicinity of these products while employed as a machinist, laborer and deliveryman.
Baldwin alleges that he breathed in asbestos dust from products, such as insulation, drywall, caulk, floor and ceiling tiles, and paint.
Baldwin asserts that his lung cancer is a result of his exposure to asbestos, rather than his history of cigarette use from 1966 to 2010.
