Worker Finds 25 Bags of Asbestos in Elementary School Crawl Space.

A K-9 school in Berens River, Manitoba, Canada, has been closed after 25 bags of asbestos were found stored in a crawl space in the school.

The school’s 350 students and 100 staff have been barred from entering the school until the asbestos is removed and experts certify that there is no danger of asbestos exposure or asbestos injury to the school’s occupants.

The asbestos was apparently stored in the crawl space after it was removed from contaminated materials in 2010.

The school had intended to move the asbestos once winter roads were cleared, but the asbestos apparently was never removed as planned.

School officials claim that there was no cover up of any information relating to potential asbestos exposure.
